If that happens under braking than you most likely have a vacuum feed problem or it sometimes is caused by the Ait Flow Meter. It happens that the spring inside is tired and doesn't spring back as normal and when your motor is decelerating under braking your AFM doesn't have the sufficient responce and it tells your EFI that there is no air moving through the engine. Check vacuum first, sometimes you can just raise the idling a tiny bit and Bobs your uncle.
My redtop was exactly the same at one point! I took the sfi air box off then the inlet manifold! Bought some carb cleaner from halfords blasted that in and used an old rag and cleaned the whole thing out including the butterfly valvues! Worked a treat plus the throttle responce was alot faster
i would take the throttle body off and clean it on the work bench and replace the gasket

if it has one it will be the idle valve.. mine did it brought one £10 off ebay... the other thing it can be is the air meeter. changed mine didn't make a difrence.. but like said its the idel valve.. this is on the side of the part that looks like a carb....
