Just a suggestion in general. The state you live in doesn't matter call around...check body shops, ask if they do OVERALLS some places don't want to do resprays. Let them know what you need done, and your budget! Paints not that expensive, but labor is and paint work is labor intensive. Depending on the prep required. IS the vehicle detrimmed? etc. Discuss costs, if you're in the price range you can afford ask more questions Do they have a downdraft booth? do they use top quality paint BASF, PPG, etc.. use SATA paint guns? I pay a "friend' who can lay down paint flat in a downdraft booth a $1000 for his labor and booth. I like BASF PPG paint that's just my choice, some people like House of Kolor.. whatever, I pay $600-700 for materials Base coat, Mid coat, Top coat (clear) I buy the best Clear "Concept" that was PPGs best last I checked 12 months ago at $200 a gallon. Oh, one last comment VIEW THE MIX ROOM if its not spotless and I mean totally CLEAN walk away... find a shop that's happy to walk you through there mix room... I'm told the $1700 plus tip! work I pay for is what shops are charging $5000-6000 just for illustration purposes that's as good as it gets. OR you can MAACO it for $800- 1000 depends what you want. Regards
Thanks AutoCentric for going into detail- I would add that stripping the paint down to bare metal and using good paint will be expensive- and somebody who knows how to do it right will cost more, also- but if that Spider is rust free, it is worth it-
