Replacement Engine for Chevrolet Optra

Asked by RiaanN Dec 03, 2010 at 02:41 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Optra

Question type: Car Customization

Hi there all.

The timing belt on my Optra snapped, bent the valves and damaged one of the pistons.

With me living in South Africa, there are not many Chev Optras around, so none of the scrapyards have any engines lying around.

I am look for a replacement engine, or even a higher capacity engine, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can fit ?

Thanks

I had a Daewoo Lanos around 8 years ago, timing belt also snapped at 116000km, sold it shortly afterwards. My advice, if it breaks once, sell the thing.
