2006 chevrolet optra 1.6 automatic transmission won't engage. it was running
ok then suddenly stopped and wont move. i turned the ignition off for a minute
then turned it back on, it moved forward and died again. the engine starts and
sound excellent, transmission wont engage. what is the possible problem with
the transmission, can that part be fixed in a machine shop?

You may have a bad shit sensor and is your fluid level ok ? how many miles on the car, if it's over 75,000 it's time to change the transmission fluid. If it's the Shift Sensor then it will need to go to the shop....
