Wow- that's low mileage for an '87- mileage and TIME determine a maintenance schedule- a lot of water under the bridge since your car was new, so it is certainly time to do the 90K mile service- that's a nice car with that little use- take care of it- as for your other question, electrical components and connections shouldn't deteriorate at all unless you run the car through water or snow/salt- or you drive the car on rough roads
