My 63 mercury meteor custom bogs down really bad and can barely push on gas pedal without it dying. How to fix? and what type of oil do i use?

I would probably use a 10W30 or 10W40 vintage car oil or regular oil with a ZDDP additive. The bogging might be a bad accelerator pump. You should probably rebuild the carburetor. Before you mess with the carb make sure the points are set right and that the plugs, wires and cap/rotor are in good shape. Once you do all that, set the timing before trying to adjust the carb.

In addition you can try a bottle of STP carburetor and fuel injector cleaner, in the black bottle, at your next gas fill up. Hope that helps! Jim
