Labor cost

Asked by Sherry Apr 22, 2019 at 04:19 PM about the 2004 Cadillac DeVille

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am at a repair shop right now waiting on my 2004
Cadillac DeVille to be repaired.  Just got here.  I
BROUGHT ALL THE NEW PARTS WITH ME FOR
THEM TO USE.  They are replacing all 8 spark
plugs and front rack and back rack of ignition
coils.  She is telling me that the labor to do this is
going to cost $159.00.  This sounds extremely high
to me.  What do you think? How much labor in
“time” is involved with doing this?

Even with parts in hand, $159 is probably a good price. Hourly rates range from $75-$125 per hour and this job is likely to take 1-2 hours (or at least their minimum shop fee).

This is a great price! Just the plugs alone would cost you that at any other shop. The back 4 is in a bad location and hard to reach.. Go for it!
