how can I got my key out without breaking it off inside of ignition

Mess with shifter. put in park fully while turning/pulling key out.

Is your check engine light on, or your security light? Mine did the same thing and it ended up being the Computer. Yes, it stops the key from turning all the way off to get it out. There should be a small hole under the ignition. If you push a small rod, like paper clip in with ignition switch all the way forward it will release the switch to turn back and remove.(Battery must be disconnected)
