Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know that it will pull itself down and not to slam it. But that's not working anymore. The key will not work either.

Could be the motor on the latch or power to it.

An issue with the battery will affect more than just one accessory.

The trunk lid has 2 switches. One is on the car body part of the trunk latch, the other is on the trunk lid itself. Typically, it is the lower switch that fails. and causes the trunk not to close. They are available via GM for about $15 and easy to replace. It is called a trunk pull down switch and the gm part number for a '93 is16629927. It might be different for a '94 but I doubt it. Good luck.

I recently purchased a deville with a broken trunk. Could that be killing my battery? Just replaced altenator.
