Is my car's cylinder head gasken broken?

Asked by Esmaeil Oct 10, 2020 at 06:14 AM about the 2005 Citroen Xsara

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

few days ago I was driving and heard some noise from under hood.
Looked at the expansion tank, noticed it is boiling ( or simething like that)
and water is leaking from cap but no overheating alarm! I immdeiately turned
off the car and had it towed to home.
when it cooled down I opened the cap and saw white creamy stuff in
expansion tank and no coolant.
Few days before the incident I also noticed some white smoke coming out of
exhaust pipe.
By looking at the pictures, can I say the cylinder head gsaket is blown?

That looks pink in color. That means transmission fluid is mixing with your coolant. Most times that means the trans cooler failed. I am not sure on your vehicle, but the coolers are an integral part of the radiator. You will need to replace the radiator at a minimum and add new coolant mixture, and flush the transmission and all links of trans fluid to remove the coolant. White smoke is coolant burning, so you might also have a head gasket issue. Does your vehicle have high miles?
