Relax, if it is not fuel injected? All is well, you just have to pump the pedal, and pump it much more if you have left it parked in an uphill position. It is all simply "old school" technology. Hope this helps you out. And the 5.0 Liter is ALL the engine this Caddy needs. Mine is a 1990 5.0 and will burn rubber on demand. Besides these Caddies don't do anything in a hurry. It is all part of the classic character of Cadillac Style.

My 91 FLEETWOOD will start but shuts right off my machanic has had my car 2 weeks and he cant seem to find out whats wrong ???????

Greetings,Cadillac owners ! I have a 91 Cadillac brougham de'legance and My Brougham was doing the same shut off unless I keep pressing the gas and I changed the pick-up coil in the distributor it had rust build up , so since I had a new distributor I replaced the whole unit and The Cadillac brougham de'legance 5.7 runs like a Brougham should, hope this post helps all those Caddy owners. God Bless.
