I have a 98 civic hx and have some questions about the specifications. every site I've looked at says something different about the motor in an hx Civic. It's a sohc but is it a vtech? d16y8? Or d16y7

D16 Y5---V-TECH-E for 1998 Civic HX in the US. The 'E' is Electronic Variable Valve timing.

The D16 Y7 is a lesser HP engine, 106 HP they are in the CX, DX, & LX Trims. The D16 Y8 is in the EX only and is the 127 HP. Your Y5 is 115 HP
