Oil light comes on, blinks and shuts car off

Asked by Outlook_439 Feb 25, 2014 at 06:10 AM about the 2006 Chrysler 300

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Oil light came on, then started blinking and shuts off. I've already change both sensors,
and did a complete oil change. I'm thinking it's the oil pump. What do you think?

the oil light will not shut the car off, are you sure it is the oil light and not the skim key light, the skim light is a red light about the size of a ball point pen clicker.

This model car has fuel pump cut wired in to ecm incase of oil failure I would venture a guess that you do need a pump

if you were filling the car up at the time while it was on it will make the engine stall. takeit to a Chrysler dealer and they will fix it for free because it was a recall on a bad gas tank
