front wheel drive question

Asked by 4gy6 Aug 09, 2009 at 07:22 PM about the 2005 Honda Civic Coupe

Question type: General

Do both front wheels drive the honda equally or just the right one. what could be wrong if only the right drives the car? If I jack the front end up, put it in gear and rev the engine the right wheel turns correctly but I can stop the left wheel with my hand.

don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your car, thats the way all cars with open differentials work. I assure you, your car is operating exactly the way it should.

,above post is correct, this is the way the FWD works, its just like the older cars you get stuck in mud or snow and onley the right rear spins.
