The air conditioner on my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid stopped working 3 months ago

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The air conditioner on my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid stopped working 3 months
ago (93774 miles). My local dealer estimated repair would be $1137. This
information is from my local Honda dealer Aug 19. They found the system has
freon, fans operate, clutch is not engaged. They checked relay: OK. Coil
resistance and power to coil. Clutch engaged and started working while doing
this. Clutch is working and cycling correctly at this time. AC is cold. Rec new
clutch and coil as clutch gap is excessive.
Occasionally, the AC works, but most of the time the AC does not work; it blows
hot air.
