Can the engine be damaged by a timing belt braking on a 2008 kia optima v6

nownow TS, we recycle to take another whack at it~next time NON- interference please...always used to be relieved when working on Volvo 240s because you could NOT mess the timing up...a Honda on the other hand...have destroyed a customer's car because the timing belt was off by ONE tooth~
