2005 Pt Cruiser Fobs won't program

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought 2 new fobs and keys, had keys cut, successfully programmed them, now have 4, the old and new ones, working. Then did routine in Owners Manual to program new fobs, got Programming Mode chime, pushed button on first new fob, chimed again, pressed button on second new fob, no chime. Now the only one that works is the new fob. The fob apparently reprogrammed my car's computer. How can this be fixed?

Perhaps the fob that won't program is defective or has a dead battery. Your local locksmith can probably test it to make sure it's transmitting a signal when you press the button. Hope that helps! Jim

Thanks but that's not it. When the new fob became successfully programmed, the old ones stopped working and now the new one, that does work, won't initiate programming mode in my car. So now I have 4 fobs, one new one works, one new one does not work and the 2 original ones quit working when the new one started working. It goofed up my car's computer, I need to get it reset.
