WEELL ... LIKE ON A SMALL/BIG BLOCK CHEVY THE PUMP HAS A ROD WITCH DRIVES/TURNES THE DISTRIBUTOR SO NO....BUT EVEN IF IT COULD **NOT FOR LONG** IT WOULD FRY THE MOTOR WITHOUT A WORKING/TURNING OIL PUMP..

If the oil pump goes out the engine will be ruined due to being starved of lubricating oil. It will happen very quickly in a matter of seconds.
