i have a 2001 concorde tht has begun to make a whirring sound but it will not start i am curious as to wether its  my starter going bad or if its a timing chain

if it sounds like a diesel truck then its a timing chain. mine went around 97,000 miles and its a 2001 as well. have fun paying for that it ran me about 800. I feel your pain
