im not sure if that is the starter, it could be. i would check all your fuses, relays and such to do with starting the vehicle before anything. other things to check could be grounds, battery connections and making sure all grounds are not corroded resulting in a power transfer drop. from the battery to starter. fords also have 2 solenoids for the starter, one usually on the fire wall along the top area on the passenger side or on a passenger fender, try jumping the starter with a screw driver on the solenoid and such. there is only one way it will work, it will spark but don't worry that is normal when you do this just for testing purposes. if it doesn't start then yes it would seem your starter is gone. other than that i don't know of anything it could be
