Problem

Asked by Klára Oct 17, 2015 at 10:26 AM about the 1999 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a car Chrysler Stratus 2.5 in 1999. The gearbox and four-speed
automatic mechanisms, does not want to work. I'll put it in gear, give gas,
must wait a while throw in gear to start, throwing the second, the speed does
not drop through 3000 and continued into the third and not just 5000 rpm.
What's wrong? The gearbox was replaced with the oil.

Are you getting a check engine light? I have had 3 Chrysler products myself, two with horrible transmission issues. If the check engine light is on and you have symptoms like these, the automatic transmission is likely about to give up. Its an expensive repair, possibly more than a 1999 car is worth.
