98 Sebring convertible AC seized Options

Asked by kmz47303 Jun 15, 2017 at 10:13 AM about the 1998 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Sebring convertible, the AC seized up and broke the belt.  The
mechanic is telling me $875 to replace the compressor and said there is no
by-pass available for that model.  Anyone know if there is a bypass kit
available or a way to work around not replacing the compressor?

There is a pulley for this ,go to your local part,s store and ask for a ac bypass pulley for your car,if autozone or advance ,orielly,s dont, have it,go to NAPA,they can get this for you.

i searched a couple of the parts sites and none of them list one for this vehicle. I will go in and check the store see if they can find one on their computer
