can i replace the radiator in my 1996 chrylser lhs without discharging the a/c system

yes you can remove the radiator without discharging the a/c 1 Detach the negative (black) radiator cable with a wrench. 2 Slide a large drain pan under the radiator and open the radiator drain plug. Loosen the radiator cap and drain the coolant completely. Close the drain plug and remove the drain pan. Store the coolant in a sealed container for later recycling. Unfasten the radiator upper cross-member with a ratchet and socket and remove the cross-member. Shift the transmission into neutral and block the rear wheels with chocks. 4 Raise the front of the Chrysler with a floor jack and support it on two jack stands. 5 Squeeze the clamp tabs that secure the upper and lower radiator hoses to their fittings with a pair of rib joint pliers and slide the clamps towards the engine. Pull the upper and lower hoses off the radiator fittings. 6 Place a small drain pan under the cooler lines attached to the radiator and detach the transmission cooler lines from the radiator with a line wrench. Immediately cover the line openings with clean plastic sheets and rubber bands to prevent contamination of the system. 7 Unplug the cooling fan electrical connector and unfasten the fan assembly mounting bolts with a ratchet and socket. Pull the fan assembly off the engine compartment. 8 Unfasten the condenser-to-radiator mounting bolts through the front of the vehicle with a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. Check around the radiator for any brackets or bolts that might be holding the radiator in place and remove them with the ratchet and socket. 9 Lift the condenser a few inches to disengage the upper mounting clips and let the condenser rest on the lower radiator cross-member. Carefully lift the radiator out of the engine compartment.
