Mark VII axle swap onto a Fox body Mustang

I have heard a MK VII rear axle will fit on a Fox body Mustang.  I can't find any specific details but would like to try this if possible because I could do it myself (maybe) and it would be far cheaper than changing out my 2.73 ratio for the 3.27 ratio I want in my 88 GT.
