Dodge Dakota won't start

Hello, looking for help, I replaced my intermediate
steering shaft, during this process I needed to start
my truck several times to rotate the shaft to get at
the bolts, I went to turn the truck on one last time
and it will not start, no click, lights and blower
motor are working and I charged the battery and
still will not start. Truck is a 2005 dodge Dakota
with a 4.7 v8

Try pulling the starter off and testing it. Occasionally the gear in it will get stuck on the flywheel and cause similar problems.
