Battery light on and than off

My battery light comes on . When i shut
the van off and turn the van back on it is
off. I drive for a mile or 2 than the light
comes back on.

Have the charging system completely checked out, as this has a computer controlled system you need a shop that knows what they are doing, not a quickie test from a parts store.

I would check for obvious stuff first like battery cables, terminals to make sure they're clean and tight, belt etc. If everything looks good, have it checked

This model has a "clutch" on hub of alt, cold or restarts is fine, warms up or stop and go it starts discharging the bat. Two ways to solve it tack weld hub so it's permanent locked or replace it.
