Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1988 chevy k2500 with the 6.2
Detroit diesel, and optional 4x4, the motor
just turned into a v6(I think, won't go above
70 mph and shakes like a mother when
stopped), I've got a lot of money into body
and interior, and I wanna slap a turbo diesel
in there, can I just buy a 6.5l turbodiesel,
and slap it right in, or are there any
modifications, and if so what are they? Or is
there another motor I can drop right in with
that drive train?

Welcome to the wonderful world of GM diesels- is this the first time you've heard about this? You have entered a world that thousands before you have suffered in- save yourself the trouble, junk it and buy one with a gas engine-

It's easier to put a gasser in it than a 6.5. Personally, I wouldn't spend any effort putting a 6.5 in anything. But no, it doesn't just slap in there
