Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 gmc 1500 5.7l, and it won't
start. I drove it home one day, it was running
great, I parked it for about 2 weeks and I
hadn't started since then. The fuel pump,
fuel filter, fuel lines, and fuel pressure
regulator are all new. I jumped the fuel
pump relay to make the fuel pump run full
time and it still didn't start. If I spray starter
fluid down the intake, it'll start. It also has
fresh gas. What's keeping it from starting?

When you spray the starting fluid into the intake and it starts does it stay running or shuts off once starter fluid has burned off ?

It dies after it burns off. I know its obviously not getting fuel, I was just hoping it would be something small and not the injectors.

It may not be the injectors just no power to injectors you will need a noid light that plugs into the connector of the injectors and will light up when key is turned on if power is going to it. If no power check ECM and fuse or relay if power to the injectors they could be really dirty or need to be replaced.

If power going to injectors they could be clogged up if so they maybe able to be removed and soaked in some carb cleaner or throttle cleaner. No promises

I'll check that when I get a chance to work on it, thanks for that. Could it possibly be the distributor cap and rotor? I've heard that it could cause it to not start.

If you spray starting fluid in intake and it starts the distributor, cap , and rotor are doing there job just not getting any fuel.
