This is a TBI 454 (or 350) correct? Does it die with a trottle input? Check to see if the fuel injectors are spraying after it dies and when you try to re-start it. If the ignition module has not been changed recently thats where I would start. Its bolted to the top of the baseplate in the distributor. The pick-up coil could be tested also. Most of the time the ICM fails completely but it's worth looking at and easy to change (make sure you use di-electric grease or the supplied grease between the module and the baseplate or it cooks quickley). The p/u coil is a little deeper, you must pull the dist to change and re-time the engine.
