2003 dodge neon won't start problem with electrical

When I jump the car and remove the charger jumper unit, all the lights flicker
including dash display and radio gauges spin wildly and odometer flashes fuse
what can I do?

I had the exact same car and problem, mine was solved by getting a new alternator
