Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had my radiator thermostat and
temperature changed on my 2002 Dodge Neon
when I open the water container there is green
liquid I'm assuming it is antifreeze I need to know
do you have to continue to put water daily in the
car even though those things were changed I drove
my car to work home back to work maybe 15 miles
and on when I parked my car at night it was
smoking I don't know if it's out of water or if it was
smoking because there was antifreeze on the cap
can someone help me out and let me know what's
going on I just paid $500 2 days ago on this car to
get it fixed and I bought it the day before it broke
down on me within 12 hours.

That green liquid is coolant that is is the reservoir. There are marks on the side of the reservoir tank for hot and cold levels that the coolant should be at. Best to check the level when the car has sat overnight, the coolant level should be at the cold mark. There should always be some level of coolant in the tank. The car should not be smoking anymore if there was spilled coolant on the engine and exhaust. If after driving it this next time and after shutting it off and you notice a leak, (smoking) from under the hood, you should take it back to who serviced it to have it looked at. What ever you do, do not let the car overheat as that would cost you more in repairs.
