Random shifting proplem

On random occasions , after starting,  the car will not shift at all during normal driving...  I have also noticed the automatic locks do Not engage..  I have on occasion corrected this by turning off and restarting the engine.. this works about 90% of the time. If I do not shut off and restart  the engine.. the car will NOT shift at any speed.  The speedometer is also faulty as it will not register Any speed (does not move)  until about 30 mph..  but this is constant.  The shifting problem is sporadic and seems to be random.
Also the brake and ABS lights are always on.. even though there seems to be no problem with the brake system. Could this be related as well?
