Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my buddy has a 2000 dodge neon that hasn't
ran in 5 years, I've replaced the fuel pump and relay
got rid of all the old gas and out stp fuel treatment
in it. I also replaced the spark plugs (due to one
having oil on it which lead me to replacing the
valve cover gasket too) and there is spark coming
from all 4 coils. Hooked up the fuel pressure gauge
and there is pressure now and it is clean gas there
too. I go to start it and it turns over but doesn't
want to start, I took off the air filter and had my
buddy spray starter fluid in the intake when I
started it and as I pump the gas it started to run
but as soon as he stopped spraying it, it just died. I
believe I heard a knocking noise that went away
midway through it running, any advice on what to
do next??

Actually I just got it started and driving! I believe the injectors may have been clogged up a little bit because I just held it a 2500 rpm and after 3 min of that I was able to take my foot off and it was running i shut it off and turned it back on so that seems to be all good. Now I have what sounds like a loose pulley somewhere but that should be an easy fix.
