how does the auto stick shif work have 99 dodge caravan se 3.8 engine

I do not know what you mean by auto stick shift but it sounds like in a automatic car you put it into 1st instead of D and hit it up to 2nd then to D

This. It has a switch to let driver shift gear on the fly. It's on the ES and Sport only not SE.

IT'S AN ELECTRIC LINKAGE POSITION SENSOR . AND THE MANUAL MODE IS ACTIVATED WHEN YOU BUMP THE SHIFTER SIDE TO SIDE ...ETC...
