I second that. Nothing is the same after you've driven a Defender. they're like the Rolls of off-roaders; in a gnarly sort of way.

Definitely has a cool factor but they have their limitations. Easy to work on though and for the most part, pretty reliable. My 1992 D110 200Tdi is infinitely more reliable than my LR3.
