AC Pulley Squealing

Asked by jscalvert Nov 11, 2008 at 10:32 AM about the 1999 Dodge Durango

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The AC pulley is squealling horribly.  I need to know if the pulley on the AC is replaceable without having to pull the compressor??  Please let me know.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you positive that the ac pully is causing the noise. If your belt is miss aligned that would also cause a squeaking noise that would be easier to fix than the ac pully. idk without seeing it, if you would have to remove the compressor to get at the pully. I think you can leave it on ther, ther is usually a bolt you have to remove in the center of the pulley to get it off

nah if u have whats called a breaker bar u can just stick that into the belt tensioner and loosen it up to work on the belts its easire than taking off the bollts at least
