I would check to make sure the AC pulley is not bent. You can check it by spinning it without the belt on. Also, check your belt tensioner. Sometimes they fail and break belts. Dave

Agree with David, there is something wrong with either your pulleys, belt tensioner, or perhaps your A/C compressor has seized up and is tearing the belts.

The A/C only runs for an hour and then the belt breaks. You must have a long commute. Anyway, sounds like you either have a bad or frozen pulley or the clutch on the A/C compressor is going out. You may be able to find and replace the bad pulley yourself, but if it's your A/C compressor you should take it to a professional, you'll save yourself money in the long run.

hello, im certifed in auto ac,i dont think your compressor is your problem, sounds like the belt tensioner is locking up on you, burning the belt and causing it to break.it has a wheel on it the bearnings are most likley locking up,replace that you should be fine.

I have a 2000 caravan and Iam having same issue with air conditioner belt breaking. It works excellent gets ice cold till belt breaks. I was thinking that it was probably bearings locking up. Are they easy to change
