Your fairmont,is the Fox Body..Everything built for a 79-93 mustang, will bolt right up to your fairmont,. I believe, the 6 K-member has the same general dimensions,as the V-8,though,I"d hunt a V-8 K down,at your local wrecking yard,as it is easy to swap out,and you"ll have no interference issues..I"ve built Many Fairmonts/zephyrs,into sleepers, using wrecked mustang GT"S as donars..Good Luck, and have fun with it,when your done!!
be careful of long tube headers. I made that mistake with the 78 Thunderbird. They rub everything!
im not doing the v8 k swap bc the straight six k is alot better than the 8 and i just pick up a set long tubes
i have the summit racing brand longtube headers and so does my buddy and they fit better in my car with the straight six k member then my buddy's mustang with the v8 member. So the straight six k member is way better than the 8 cylinder one
