Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My fuel pump keeps going out, OFTEN!!! Can I put an electric pump on this line and pull through the one in the tank? If not, can I use inline filters before and after an electric pump and mount it under the van?

every time I ever had a fuel pump problem and actually wasn't the pumpit's usually the tank evaporator valve that will cut the fuel pump off

Anytime I've seen this problem occur having multiple fuel pumps up here to go bad it's been my experience that the plug going to the pump is what's probably failing or you have excessive trash in the tank I too have also heard of the evaporator valve acting up but most of the time it's been that plug hope this helps

Also check the grounds to the fuel pump has anything DC voltage with a bad ground or weak ground builds heat in electrical components
