Just got a Rocky. How are the two belts changed?

remove the shroud for the fan by removing the 8 inch section at the bottom of the shroud. It just snaps into place but be careful and don't force it too much as you will break the clips. Next pull the shroud out from the top. You are going to need to remove the air intake hose that is just above the shroud first. Easy to do that. Its bolts are all visible. Work the fan blades into the gap you have created by removing the lower part of the shroud and lift it out. This should expose the front of the fan and make changing the belts easier. The alternator, located on the lower right hand side of the engine as if you were sitting in the car, has one adjustment bolt and another hinging bolt. Loosen both until the alternator swings up to give you enough room to remove the belt. If you have two belts as indicated, release the tension on the power steering pump area the same way you did the alternator. After both belts are off, this is a good time to remark you timing mark on the harmonic balancer. While you might not be doing anything with it at this time, that timing mark is a bear to see when the engine is running unless you remark it with some type of paint or something. I have heard of people using Liquid Paper thats used for correcting old typewriting mistakes. While it works for awhile, I don't think it would be useful long term. Make sure the ribs of the new belt are completely in the groves before tightening up the adjustment bolts. It will come off if you dont have them set right. Good Luck Jeff
Thanks! At last a car I can work on like those when I was a young man and poor. Info about timing mark is something I would have never thought of.
