V6 ford focus
Asked by meff Jan 14, 2012 at 07:05 PM about the 2000 Ford Focus
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I found a ford focus that needs a motor. It is around a 2000 model and has what I am told
is a sport or racing V6 but that's all the info I got on it. Can anyone shed a little light on this
engine for me?

it's a Duratec 1.8L engine... probably a 20 or a 2.0L for US and Argentina based... it's a DOHC FFV (flex-fuel version)... you should do a little research on what Duratec engine fits your car and will it be compatible with the transmission... probably the best one is the Duratec 23EW if your Focus is a 4WD... it has 143hp...
wow Holy s--it! A Focus with a V6? Road Rocket!! not to sure if you can fit it. Mine had the Duratch as seen above, the 2.0. 135 neat hp/ and well as torque. Wish you luck with your project!

it's compatible with the motor mounts... almost all US built Focus models have a Duratec engine but i think it's the first generation 1.8L... it will fit and bolt ons will too, as long as you can find any room under the hood...
mine was for sure the 2.0. what kind of v6? what size from what car?
I’m trying to figure out if a v6 out of a salvage mustang would fit but need some more info
