how do you disengage the 4 wheel drive on a 2001 ford ranger?

how do you disengage the 4 wheel drive back to 2 wheel drive  after you put it in neutal?

check the owner's manual- I don't know if you have 4WD with locking hubs- please do not drive it on pavement while engaged in 4WD- the shift lever should come back to "2WD" and you should be able to feel the difference- if the lever isn't working, there is the problem
