Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I get my Ford Ranger 2000 2.3L up to 20-30 miles an hour, sometimes it starts
to lose power and starts decelerating. If I don't try to accelerate immediately, I can
keep it going, but it starts lurching a bit. If I stop, turn everything off, and restart, it
sometimes works fine, if it is not too hot. If I run the heater full blast, it will help a bit.
Also, it feels like the truck won't shift gears when I shift them (manual transmission). I
had it into the local Ford house, and they put a new thermostat into it and replaced my
ECT sensor. That hasn't done any good. I don't have a Check Engine light, but my
engine temperature gauge doesn't work at all anymore. Any ideas?

Check air filter. Clean throttle body with throttle body cleaner spray. Replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while. Add bottle of fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.
