Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Brand new VW Eurovan Westfalia owner - I'm so excited!! I have a question on the auxilary batery system. I plugged in the van to charge the aux battery but the meter doesn't display that it is plugged in and the battery is not charging. Can anyone help with this? The 110 plug is working and the residual current circuit breaker is switched on but the battery is not charging. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

What condition is the battery in/will it hold charge?

Did you turn on the toggle switch on the same box as the residual circ. b. (we call these GFI (Ground Fault Interruptor) and wait a few seconds. If you get other help, mail me at enrik@shaw.ca. My batterie charger supplies 18 V instead of 13.8V. thanks enrik

I have this same issue with my Eurovan CV 1992 Canadian version. When plugged into AC power source the 110 (?) plugs in the van are powered, but the plug icon does not show up on the electrical panel and the battery does not charge. I'm thinking the issue is the battery charger that is 'conveniently' located under the 'fridge/ice box'. My AGM battery is shot, so getting a new one and then I'll try plugging in again, if that doesn't work then I'm going to get a different multi-stage battery charger for AGM batteries and install it. Just don't know how to do that, but will take the old one out and replace it with the new one. Does anyone know where there are instructions to replace the battery charger?
