Engaging 4 Wheel Drive Unit

How do I properly
shift and engage my 4
Wheel Drive Unit on
my Subaru 85 GL

I believe there is a button on the shifter to go into 4WD. If you have the dual range setup there should be a shift lever. I would stop to shift into 4WD. It is has been decades since I saw one of these but hopefully this helps. Post this question on the Naisoc forums and maybe someone that owns one of these can give you more information.
