Misfire crazyness

Asked by Ryan Feb 12, 2015 at 07:28 PM about the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

99 crown vic PI 4.6ltr
205K Mi
New intake manny (cracked)
All new Bosch super plus plugs
All new Richporter coil packs.

It's started with the cracked temp guage
housing so I bought a new manifold with
the aluminum crown front and replaced it.
Didn't make a difference but needed the
manny anyways.

Replaced all the coils and plugs and the car
ran like a champ! Engine light turned itself
off etc. About a week later, the misfiring
started again. English stays on and it runs
rough, then under load the light blinks and it
runs twice as rough. Any ideas? I've pulled
the wire to each coil pack one by one and
the car shakes so I know the coils and
plugs are doing their job..
