Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1969 Pontiac Tempest Custom S with a 4.1L 250cid Inline 6, I was wondering if an alternator off of a 1984 Chevy 350 will bolt on and work, or what will I have to do to make it work.

It depends if you tempest came with the old school generator or if it came with an alternator. The one off the 1983 chevy should work since both cars are GM model vehicles and not to much had changed with the engine set up between those two years, the bolt pattern might match up but you'll have to measure the distance between each bolt. I hope ive been some help to you

the plug will be different & it depends on internal or external voltage regulator, alternators are not that expensive, best bet would be to buy the correct one for your car.
