2005 GMC Envoy XUV tailgate won't open
I just bought a 2005 GMC Envoy XUV and realized
after I bought it that the tailgate won't open. I have
checked all the related fuses but no matter what I
do it won't open. The window in the back does not
open either. I finally took it to the dealership near
me and even they were clueless and could not
open it. Any suggestions??
You mean the dealership didn't offer to fix it? I'd want to check voltage and ground for liftgate. Granted if you can't get at the wiring harness, that's a problem. Does the liftgate have an interior panel, that you can remove? The liftgate module should be in the liftgate. In the diagram, those two fuses at top, hot all the time. Did you use test light to check for voltage? In the diagram, the two orange wires are voltage. Bottom wire on left in diagram, black wire, ground. The liftgate module may be faulty, don't know? If removing the inside liftgate panel won't help with diagnostics, then, I don't know.
