i have a 05 gmc sierra 1500. when the sun goes down and my automatic lights come on , my tail lights do not come on ! after been dark awhile they will come on when i start the truck ! senser proble

I think you hit it on the head, it does sound like your sensor is no good.

Everything else works just fine, those are pretty cheap Right

They are, but a.pain in A** to change...

Yours should be in front of the dashboard in middle, correct, some come out from the top, some have a tab that holds it in that has to unscrewed from the bottom. ..
