can I put a 4.0 v-6 in a v-8 explorer

why? is it blown? sounds like a lot of wasted time as you just wind up with a butchered explorer- If you feel the need, however, go ahead- then YOU let US know-

Hey J.B. THIS is a switch. Most of the time the question is CAN I PUT A V8 IN PLACE OF A V6?

I want to know the same thing. I already have a 2003 rebuilt v 6 engine. can get a v 8 engine exploer. Thought about switching it out if engine ever goes bad.
